Capturing the quiet elegance of the human form.

Currently on view, Ethereal is an ongoing project that is rooted in the idea that black women are not accorded the characteristics of what it means to truly be feminine, characteristics that are rooted in the European standard of beauty and foundational to colonialism.  This exhibit is a glimpse into the inherent softness of a black woman, the delicateness she embodies that is dissonant with historical and societal notions of what a black woman is. Black femininity is not an oxymoron.
